Hey welcome to TYTAN Professional Videos. I’m James Davoli, the product manager. Today we’re answering the question, what do I do if my can is fizzing when I take it off the gun? So first I want to go ahead and start off with we always want to make sure when we’re tightening our can onto the gun applicator, we’re using this plastic collar here to tighten why we use that plastic collar is we want to make sure we don’t over tighten the can onto the gun.
When you over tighten the can onto the gun you can actually put too much pressure on the valve of the can so that whenever you take off the can from the gun, whether it’s empty or not, it will start to fizz out. And pretty rapidly it’ll have a continuous stream pretty much of product coming out because you’ve pretty much completely flattened the gasket on the inside, allowing product to just continuously flow out without any stop.
Now, another thing to point out is that our cans and our gun applicators are made to work together until that can is completely empty. Say you have a subfloor adhesive can screw it on to your gun applicator and you’re getting ready to go put on the next job or next couple of sheets. Then you’re like, Oh, I want to go ahead and change this can and be ready for the next one.
Stop. Use all of that subfloor adhesive can until it’s empty and then put a new can on and that’s going to help prevent that fizzing or leaking as well. With that, you also want to make sure that keeping the can tight on the gun and having the control knob off when you’re not using it will help any kind of air from getting in curing on that can or the valve connection to the gun applicator.
And so that is your answer to what happens whenever my can is fizzing. Well, there’s two ways to stop it. One, don’t over tighten your can and two, leave the can on the gun applicator until it is completely empty. Ready to change out for a new one. Thank you and have a great day.
