Hey, welcome to TYTAN Professional Videos. I’m James Davoli, the product manager. Today we are answering the question will our Subfloor Adhesive melt foam? So first I want to go ahead and start off with our subfloor adhesive is made without any solvents, and solvents are the main proponent that melts foams like EPS, XPS and ISO. So today we’re going to do a little demonstration to answer one of our customers questions will our subfloor adhesive melt from?
The answer is no because our subfloor adhesive does not have any solvents. It is solvent-free, just like our Foam Bond 60 and our Drywall product. All of them being solvent-free means that they will not melt foam. Today we have two examples. We have the EPS and XPS foam boards, just as an example. To start off, I’ll start over here at the EPS, I’ll spray some and then I’ll move over to the XPS and melting foam would quite literally look like it’s melting.
It’s going to it would fall or collapse and kind of see some vapors and everything else. So that’s what we’ll kind of watch for as I’m applying. But we shouldn’t see any of that. We should be just fine. So I got my can shaked up here. Go ahead and open up the nozzle control knob. All right. So I’m going to do a decently large bead just to kind of show EPS our subfloor adhesive coming out as a foam, then turning into its gel.
So that way you can apply your subfloor or in this case, if you were having to use our subfloor adhesive on any kind of foam. But what you can see is that our subfloor adhesive is not melting. The foam because it would quite literally be pushing the foam or this EPS down right where it was applied. But it’s not so far.
Everything’s looking good. It’s reacting just as it should. I’ll go ahead and move over to this XPS again. Just going to do nice bead size, make it easy to see. And close that control knob, everything here is looking pretty good. It is definitely working as it should, not melting the foam. So to answer the question again, our subfloor adhesive is made solvent-free, and because it’s solvent-free, it will not melt foams like EPS, XPS, and ISO.
